It’s 4am…for whatever reason I can’t sleep.
Thoughts are bouncing round my head – the cacophony of them resounding like a peal of bells.
I’m so tired and yet closing my eyes does no more than take away one of my senses. And with sight removed most of my other senses are heightened…I can hear the ticking of the clock downstairs, I can feel the breeze blowing across the room from the open window and carried on the breeze the smell of rain which has been pitter-pattering against the ground outside. Taste is the only thing lacking…damn that’s now also got me wondering why that is.
I’ve tried everything… but to no avail. I actually just tried counting sheep but ran out of flock…my thoughts have now jumped to wondering where the hell is the sheepdog (probably fast asleep the lucky git !).
I love the internet…it’s always open; so here is me in front of my PC waiting for the kettle to boil – what difference can caffeine make now? It can hardly wake me up anymore than I already am or can it ?
Do I actually risk a coffee or go back upstairs and try once more to get some needy shut-eye.
I thought I’d take the opportunity to share with you my plight…4:19am on the 3rd March 2012…welcome to my sleepless world.
